Given that this is part of a trilogy and the trilogy is actually part of a set of trilogies (so 9 books total), there is far more to see in this world. The main character of this book is Fitz, the bastard son of Chivalry, who is the king in waiting of the six duchies. And I have to say I'm glad I finally read Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice. I liked it, but I felt it was too much of an introduction, and there were too many plots and sub-plots [etc.]. Assassins Apprentice was one of the first fantasy books i read and i find the characters have depth and i can really associate with them. After she polished off the highly-regarded Farseer Trilogy, I politely requested (and begged and pleaded) for her to write up her thoughts for my blog. Not a lot to say before I get to the review, so I'll just mention that about halfway through reading this book I went out and picked up the second and third books in the trilogy, it was a good read and a good beginning to a series. 1st book in The Farseer Trilogy. Now, this book begins with young Fitz But back to the book. I had enjoyed it, but not nearly as much Her stye of writing in the Farseer Trilogy takes some getting used to. This book is a sequel to Assassin's Apprentice which I read a couple of years ago. Assassin's Apprentice Assassin's Apprentice is the first book in the Farseer Trilogy, a introduction to the world of the Six Duchies, and to the story of Fitz Farseer. I have much praise for robin hobb the farseer trilogy and the tawny manI love. Given that Sword & Laser, one of the shows on the amazing Geek & Sundry lineup, is reading the book this month, I figured: it's time.
